What is the best way to reheat onion rings
Leftover onion rings? how did you even manage that? Kidding aside, if you do have leftover onion rings, what is the best way to reheat them without losing their crunchiness and flavor.
There are 4 different ways to reheat onion rings and it doesn't include refrying because that is an unnecessary process for not needed calories. You can reheat onions in the air fryer, oven (convention or fan), grill (broiler) and lastly microwave. Microwave is the least of our favorite way of reheating this appetizer. In fact, I never put it back in the microwave to warm because it is pointless. The onion rings come out too hot to handle and you can be assured of a soggy mess if get the timing wrong. Also, it tends to lose its texture if you reheat onion rings in the microwave.
The best way to reheat onion rings is in the oven (toaster) or the air fryer. We prefer the air fryer because that way, you can reheat just a little batch without the need to heat up the whole oven. These two methods would guarantee you onion rings that would taste like it was just fried. Crispy on the outside with a succulent onion bite on the inside. Yum! This is also the best method if you are reheating onion rings from frozen. It doesn't matter if yours is breaded or battered these methods would work provided the onions rings are not contaminated with other things like dipping sauce.

How to reheat onion rings in an air fryer
This is my personal favorite way to reheat any fried food, not just onion rings. It is so easy and it doesn't require any oil to do it. You can use any type of air fryer but we find that the bigger ones work a little better than the smaller ones. Not by much but it does make a difference. If you have a small air fryer, don't let that stop you from trying this out.
Preheat the air fryer to 160C/350F for 3-5 minutes.
Place onion rings in the air fryer basket in a single layer, cook for 3-5 minutes flipping it once if you are to do so.
Remove the warmed onion rings from the air fryer, serve and enjoy.
Oven method
Preheat your oven to 400C/200F and arrange the onion rings on a lined baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Spay with some cooking oil if you prefer.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until crispy and warm enough to your preference.
Serve and enjoy!
Microwave method
This method is not recommended but if you are in a bind and have no other choice, then this is the way to go about it.
Line a kitchen paper towel on a microwavable safe plate, arrange the leftover onion rings on the paper-lined plate. Heat for 20-second intervals on high flipping once in between until warm enough to your preference.
Serve and enjoy!
Grill or Broiler method
This method works if you have a grill or broiler pan. If you don't have one, you can improvise by using an oven-safe skillet or frying pan.
Haet the broiler for about 3 minutes
Place onion rings on a lined baking sheet and warm for 1-2 minutes per side or until warmed through. Serve and enjoy!
Bonus method: The frying method
You can either shallow fry in a pan on the stove or deep fry the onion rings in a deep fryer.
If you are shallow frying, heat about ¼ inch of oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is heated, place onion rings in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown.
For deep frying, heat oil in a deep fryer to 375F/190C. Fry onion rings in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from the fryer and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Serve and enjoy!

It is very easy to know if your onion rings have gone bad. there ate many tale-tell signs, sight, smell, touch, and texture. If it has a sour smell, it is an indication that it has gone bad and you should throw it away. Also, if the texture is slimy or there is mold on it, do not eat it. If it has hardened or has been reheated more than once then it is time to throw it out. Onion rings are very affordable and cheap, so there is no point in putting yourself at risk.
