  • 4 cups cooked spaghetti sauce

  • Cook the spaghetti sauce as you would normally.

How to freeze spaghetti sauce in bags

  • Make sure the sauce is completely cooled, portion the spaghetti sauce into heavy-duty freezer bags. Remove all air from the bag before sealing it tight. You can use a straw to suck out the air or use a vacuum sealer.
  • Label and date each bag as well as its contents to avoid confusion later on. Uniform portions would be best for easy defrosting later. Freezer for up to 3 months.

  • Pour the spaghetti sauce into shallow containers of choice, don't fill it all the way up to allow for expansion. Cover tightly with the lid, label, and date each container accordingly, and place in the freezer for up to 3 months or longer at your discretion. Another way is using the microwave, this is great when time is of the essence or in a bowl of cold water. You place the container/sealed bag of the frozen sauce in a bowl of cold water. You then change the water every half hour until the sauce is fully defrosted.
