How Long To boil Carrots

Ingredients
  

  • ½ pound carrots I used baby carrots

To season

  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon butter
  • Fresh thyme

Instructions
 

  • Scrub and wash the carrots clean under running water.
  • Peel the carrots (if desired) and dice them diagonally (at a bias) into about ¼ inch thick slices. If using baby potatoes, you can keep them whole depending on the thickness. Try to keep them at similar sizes so they cook evenly.
  • Add carrots to a saucepan, add enough water to cover it, and place a lid on it.
  • Bring it to a boil on medium heat for 4-7 minutes or until the carrots are fork-tender. Cook for a shorter time if you want it crisp-tender.
  • Drain and season the boiled carrots with pepper, a pinch of salt, fresh thyme, and toss in butter until melted. Serve immediate

Notes

  • Fridge: make sure you drain all the water from the cooked carrots before transferring it to an airtight container. Let it cool completely and store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • You can also freeze the boiled carrots by storing it in a freezer-safe container or bag. They will last for up to 3 months.
