Microwave Broccoli

This step-by-step tutorial will teach you how to cook broccoli in the microwave in easy steps. Steaming broccoli in the microwave is an easy and quick way to cook it this vegetable side dish.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium head fresh Broccoli
  • 2 Tablespoons water
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Butter or fresh lemon juice optional

Instructions
 

  • Cut the broccoli into similar sized florets and add it to a bowl, fill the bowl with water and rinse the broccoli.
  • Drain and add broccoli to a microwavable bowl, add a pinch of salt and water. Place a microwavable lid on the bowl and microwave the broccoli on high for 3-4 minutes depending on how tender and crisp you want it
  • Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave and drain any remaining water
  • Sprinkle broccoli with some black pepper and fresh lemon juice if desired. You can also toss it in some melted butter. Serve and enjoy.
    PS: if serving broccoli florets to a child, make sure that the florets are cooled completely and cut up into managable bite sizes.
